I’d suggest planning Bangalore area by area. This saves travel time and gives you more time to actually enjoy each place.
1. Start with Old Bangalore
Explore Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, Bangalore Fort, KR Market, Basavanagudi and Bull Temple. You can also try traditional South Indian breakfast or snacks in this area.
2. Keep a Day for Parks and Landmarks
Visit Lalbagh Botanical Garden in the morning, then move towards Cubbon Park, Vidhana Soudha and Bangalore Palace. These are some of the places I would keep on a first-time itinerary.
3. Explore the Modern Side
Spend an evening around Church Street, MG Road or Indiranagar. These areas are good for cafés, restaurants, shopping and experiencing Bangalore’s more modern side.
4. Add a Local Market
If you enjoy shopping and local experiences, include KR Market or Commercial Street. Go with some free time rather than trying to combine too many attractions on the same day.
5. Keep the Food Flexible
Instead of planning every meal, choose a few local dishes and try different places along your route. Masala dosa, idli, vada and filter coffee are easy choices for a first visit.
The main thing I would avoid is putting attractions from opposite sides of the city into one day. Three days is comfortable for a first city tour, while four days gives you more time to explore without rushing.
I’d also leave a little empty time in the itinerary. In Bangalore, that flexibility can make the trip much more enjoyable.
