| Unchalli falls - Uttara Kannada, Karnataka | |
| The Unchalli water falls near Sirsi, Uttara Kannada nearly 30 km from sirsi. This is also called Lushington Falls in the official records. (This name comes from the district commissioner of Uttara Kannada during the British Raj, who first recorded its existence) Situated amidst thick forests, this provides a breathtaking view of the river, waterfalls and the evergreen rain forest surrounding it. This video is taken just after the monsoon has receded. The Aghanashini river drops into a rock chamber here in two stages, creating a roaring sound. This water falls is called the \"Keppa Joga\" by the local community, for its deafening sound. The best times to visit this place are between October and February. It is always advisable to take the local help while visiting this place, since it lies in an unexplored territory and there are some dangerous spots on the way. During the summer, one can climb down to the river and move along the course to reach the foots of the water falls. | |
